E-Business Server 8.8.1 for Linux/Unix/Windows®, is Generally Available (G.A.). E-Business Server 7.7.1 for z/OS and USS is also G.A.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – February 3, 2015 – Software Diversified Services, industry leader in security and monitoring for IBM mainframes, today announced the immediate availability of E-Business Server versions 7.7.1 and 8.8.1.
Last quarter’s improvements to the SDS E-Business Server allow it to restore (i.e. decompress or inflate) data compressed with the zlib algorithm. Public encryption keys created by E-Business Server indicate which compression algorithm you prefer in the data you receive: zip or zlib. E-Business Server can decompress zip or zlib data. It compresses data with zip.
E-Business Server 8.8.1 for Linux/Unix/Windows is a fully tested and ready-for-production G.A. release that fixes bugs and replaces 8.8.0. Because you are a current E-Business Server customer, we invite you to download and install this new release.
E-Business Server 7.7.1 for z/OS and USS, also a G.A. release, became available to customers early last month. It replaces release candidate 7.7.0 and G.A. version 7.6
In addition to handling zlib compression, 8.8.1 and 7.7.1 provide the following features that previous G.A. versions do not:
- DSS/DSA signing keys in 2048 and 3072 bits, with separately defined sizes for signing and encryption keys.
- SHA256, SHA384, and SHA512 hash algorithms for signatures, and SHA224 for DSA signatures.
